April 18, 1970 – June 27, 2024
Priyanka Suminda Dias Bandaranayake was born in Colombo, Sri-Lanka on April 18, 1970. He was born to Richard Dias Bandaranayake and Hilda Jayasinghe, as the eldest of four children. While physically challenged in some aspects of life, he enjoyed the love and affection of everyone around him. He lit the room up with his humour and his memorable smile. He never turned down an opportunity to socialize with family and friends and always looked forward to sharing a drink with the boys; behind his mother’s back. He loved everyone, especially little ones. He loved to read Sri-Lankan newspapers online, watch his favourite shows on Youtube and follow all the games the Sri-Lankan cricket team played. He loved computer games and was always curious about new technologies. Most of all, Priyanka left a lasting impression on anyone who had the pleasure of meeting him.
He will be greatly missed by his family; his parents Richard and Hilda, his siblings (and their respective spouses), Priyanthi (brother-in-law Tilak), Nalin (sister-in-law Nandani) and Suresh (sister-in-law Aruni). He was deeply loved by his nieces and nephews; Theshane, Sandali, Sera, Kevin, Diynsa, Esandu and Vinulima, along with many other relatives and friends.
Although this chapter has come to an end for him, we are grateful for the many years of joy he brought into our lives and for the memories that we created with him.
“Till we meet again, our dear Lokku!”

We are very saddened by Ayya’s demise. It was our privilege to know Ayya,
where we shared great food, laughter and company. You have left a great void around the loved ones. You will be missed dearly but never forgotten. We pray that you attain Nirvana.
Please accept our deepest sympathies. May his soul rest in peace.
